Class description:

Design Thinking is a process for creative problem solving that follows specific steps of finding solutions to identified challenges.

In the Design thinking workshop, learners might engage in engineering a solution, designing a solution, tinkering, tweaking a process , hacking a system , testing ideas , gathering data, dreaming up ideas or interviewing users of the intended solution. All this ends up with the ultimate goal of designing a solution.

The diversity in the creative problem solving allows children to tap into their imaginative minds. It also empowers them to be in charge by conducting interview questions, doing the research, generating ideas and creating their final product /solution.

The Design Thinking process goes through 5 to 6 steps of

Empathize – Define — Ideate — Prototype — Test — Share”

Meet your teacher

Ms Shamim Nirere

Why I teach D.T

I started teaching Design Thinking in September 2019 to a group of children and teenagers!

It was the most exciting and engaging class we have had by far. By the time the participants are done, they appreciate the new learning experience. They equally appreciate that they are the problem solvers and innovators this world is waiting to see.

My wish is to see every classroom in Uganda teach the Design Thinking approach to their learners.

I’m excited to invite you to enroll your champion in this month long Design Thinking workshop!
